We are delighted to have appointed Charlie Carnall as Director of FRAME Recruitment. Charlie joins us as a proven business leader, having spent over 25 years working in recruitment. He has worked in a number of senior leadership roles, with his most recent being a Country Manager within specialist recruitment. We are thrilled to have him as part of the team and wanted to catch up with him to hear about his plans for his new role.
When did you first begin your career in recruitment and what attracted you to the industry?
My career began in 1995 when I went for an interview with a recruitment business who asked if I had ever considered recruitment as a career, which I had not.Honestly, before this I didn’t actually know what recruitment was, so you could say that I fell into my career by chance. They sold me the dream and 25 years later I am still passionate about it and working in the industry. I started as a Consultant and worked my way up to where I am today.
What enticed you to join the team at FRAME Recruitment?
FRAME is an established and reputable business, and from the conversations that I was having with Mark Charman, our CEO and Martin Bennell, Managing Director, I was intrigued about the opportunity and growth ambition of the business. That’s what enticed me. I wanted to join a business where I could make an impact. I have worked for large corporate businesses both in the UK and overseas for most of my career. I was passionate about joining a business that had the potential to scale globally, and where I could make a real difference.
What are you looking forward to the most about your new role?
I am looking forward to fully immersing myself within the industry but also recruiting top talent into our growing team. I am excited about scaling the business and building on our strong reputation and offerings within architecture and design.
How do you plan to immerse yourself in the world of architecture and design?
I have already attended some fantastic professional webinars, so I plan to continue this. Most importantly, I believe that it is important to stay on top of industry trends and continuously learn about what is happening and changing within the sector. From that, I want to adapt our offerings to what is important right now.
You have had an impressive professional career in senior leadership roles, what skills/experience will you be transferring into your new role?
The key attributes that I aim to transfer into my new role are organisation, ambition, offering new ideas and fresh ways of approaching the market. I think it is crucial to keep trying new things, monitor them and keep improving. I am a firm believer in never failing at anything twice, instead, you learn, and you get better.
What are you most passionate about when it comes to recruitment and also the architecture/design industry?
I am most passionate about doing the right thing, whilst consulting with our clients, challenging them, and understanding their requirements to provide the best service and candidates available. My aim is always to maintain and build strong lasting relationships with our candidates and clients and provide a unique offering.
